World premiere for the Kia PV7 – the next step in Kia’s electric van initiative
Kia is expanding its range of electric vans with the new Kia PV7, which had its world premiere at IAA Transportation in Hanover, Germany. Building on the success of the Kia PV5, this larger model will be launched as both Cargo and Passenger.
The PV7 is the second model in Kia’s PBV program (Platform Beyond Vehicle), offering increased space and load capacity for both cargo and passenger transport.
Kia PV7 Cargo – designed for the working day
The Kia PV7 Cargo has been developed for businesses and professionals who need a spacious, easily accessible load space. Depending on the version, it holds up to 8.0 cubic metres and up to three Euro pallets. The low loading height of 550 mm makes loading and unloading easier throughout the workday.
The PV7 is also available as the Passenger version, featuring a flexible seating arrangement with space for up to nine people depending on configuration.
Long range and Vehicle-to-Load
The Kia PV7 is offered with battery options of 71.5 and 96.2 kWh. With the larger battery, the preliminary range is over 460 kilometres according to WLTP.
Thanks to 800-volt charging, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 25 minutes at a 350 kW charging station.
With Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), the Kia PV7 can use energy from its high-voltage battery to power electric tools and other equipment via 230-volt outlets. This turns the vehicle into a mobile power source, even on jobsites where access to electricity is limited. Read more about the Kia PV7 on their website.
Close collaboration with Kia
For tradespeople and service technicians, a van is more than just a way to get between jobs. Smart storage and the right van racking make it easier to organize tools and materials while making efficient use of the load space.
System Edström already has a partnership with Kia Sweden regarding the Kia PV5, enabling customers to order the van with pre-installed racking through Kia dealers. We look forward to following the development of the Kia PV7 and the opportunities to create smart racking solutions for the new model as well.
The Kia PV7 Cargo and Kia PV7 Passenger are planned for launch in Europe during the second half of 2027. Curious about how to fit out your Kia? Watch our video where Kia’s product expert, Per Lundin, demonstrates Kia’s demo vehicles.
