New bespoke brackets – faster installation and less wear

To simplify the installation of our van racking, we at System Edström have recently launched bespoke brackets – a smart solution that saves time, makes installation easier, and minimizes wear on the van.

Currently, the brackets are available for the Ford Transit Custom, Volkswagen Transporter T7 and ID Buzz, and our plan is to launch more models in the future.

During a visit to Möller Bil in Västerås (Sweden), we got to see the new system being installed.

Saving time on every installation

Edvin Tang, Product Developer at System Edström, explains the thinking behind the solution:

– Our bespoke brackets are designed to save time, which in turn saves money (installation hours). By using the vans’s existing holes, there’s no need to drill unnecessary new ones.

He continues:

– The idea is that installation should be so intuitive that anyone can easily carry it out – directly in the original holes that already exist in the van.

How the installation works

Each kit contains three unique brackets, adapted for the left or right side. One is mounted in the bulkhead, the others in the C- and D-pillars.

Often it is easiest to first mount the brackets onto the racking (shelf frames) before placing it into the van, but in some cases it may be more convenient to start directly with the existing holes in the van.

Every van requires its own solution when installing racking – which is why our brackets are uniquely tailored for each model.

A stable and practical solution

Ante Johansson, fitter at Möller Bil, highlights the clear advantages of the system:

– It feels like a very stable solution. You get direct access to the ladders, and it’s much more practical when there are ready-made attachment points. You avoid the time it takes to drill and rivet into the bodywork.
