Meet Simon – our sales manager in Germany

Simon Bauske, 34, leads System Edström’s operations in the DACH region. In a short period of time, he has increased sales and built strong partnerships across the region.

– We are a straightforward, solution-oriented company that acts quickly to find the best van racking solutions for our customers, he says.

Extensive industry experience – and an unexpected path

Simon’s journey to System Edström began unexpectedly. He previously worked at Bott – one of our competitors – where he was Branch Manager for the Upper Bavaria region.

After a period working in real estate at Bayerische Hausbau, where he managed major sales projects in cities like Munich, Hamburg and Berlin, he was contacted by a recruiter.

I hadn’t planned to change industries again, but I’ve always been interested in van racking systems. When I visited System Edström in Kista (Sweden), I was convinced. It was a chance to truly contribute with my own ideas. I knew right away that I wanted to be part of this team.

A strong first year – new partners and growing sales

He took on his new role at System Edström in May 2024.

The first year has been intense but successful. Simon has built strong relationships with both existing and new dealers.

– I have brought in new dealers in both Germany and Switzerland. We have also significantly increased sales in the German market, which is a clear sign that our products and our strategy are working.

For Simon, being proud of the van racking system he represents is essential.

– Our products are of the highest quality. One major advantage is that the system is backward compatible and reusable. You don’t have to throw anything away when you change vehicles – that’s both practical and environmentally friendly. It also shows how seriously we take sustainability at System Edström, he says.

New demo vans featuring this year’s product innovations

Customers in Germany especially appreciate our new products, such as the new cabinets and the updated dropfronts.

– Several have also shown interest in the overall appearance of my van, even the exterior design with the vehicle wrap. And three of my dealers have already ordered exactly the same setup that I have in my demo van for their own vans.

Future plans: Stronger presence and more partners

Looking ahead, Simon Bauske has clear goals: expanding the partner network, especially in northern, eastern and southern Germany – as well as in Austria. In addition, he wants to strengthen System Edström’s brand awareness in the region.

– So far, we haven’t invested much in marketing here, but that’s starting to change. Another goal is to build stronger relationships with major van racking manufacturers and dealers. The potential is huge.

Who is Simon outside of work?

Simon was born in Stuttgart and has lived in Munich since the age of 14. When he’s not working with customers or partners, you’ll often find him outdoors – mountain biking or hiking in the summer, and snowboarding or skiing in the winter.

– I love being outdoors. It gives me energy and inspiration. One goal for the future is to document more – take more photos with the demo van in different environments. It’s been a hectic year, but I’m looking forward to creating more of that soon.

A clear customer focus

When asked what he enjoys most about his work, he doesn’t hesitate:

– I love finding solutions. Instead of saying ‘no’, I always try to understand the customer’s needs and find a suitable alternative. Building trust – that’s the foundation of everything I do.
