Meet our new country manager in Finland – Jaakko Asikainen

With extensive experience in van racking and our product range, Jaakko Asikainen has taken on the role of our new Country Manager in Finland. Recently, his new demo van was completed – fully equipped with our van racking solutions and specially designed lighting in both the rear and side doors.

Expanding the Dealer Network in Finland

Jaakko started his new role in September 2025. He most recently comes from Startax, where he worked for eight years as a Sales Director.

– It’s been really fun. I’m excited to focus fully on van racking and it’s a great product area. I’m very happy, busy, and having a lot of fun, says Jaakko.

In Finland, trust, quality, and reliability are highly valued, Jaakko explains. As a customer you want to know that you can rely on good service in every situation.

– Many also appreciate that we are easy to work with. “The Edström way is the good way” is something we often hear from both customers and dealers.

– That’s always a major advantage. Our green Edström profile is also something many customers appreciate, Jaakko adds.

Popular with pickups

Smaller vans are common in Finland, and pickups have become increasingly popular alongside the expansion of fibre networks.

– Pickups work very well when you need to reach more remote locations. This has also led more people to discover new solutions, such as our double floors.

One of Jaakko’s favourite van racking solutions from our range is our pull-out shelf, which makes it easy to access equipment in smaller vans. Our assortment case is one of the products he frequently highlights.

– I really like the design. It’s flexible, easy to customise, and closes smoothly so it doesn’t open by accident.

The Demo Van – A Mobile Showroom

The new demo van is a Volkswagen Crafter, fitted out by our dealer Protec Automotive Oy. The goal was to showcase as much of our van racking range as possible for the Finnish market.

The demo van includes, among other things:

• The new cabinet. Practical storage with flexible shelf placement for maximum capacity, including an integrated lock.
• Drawers in various sizes, ideally positioned by the door for quick and easy access. Also dropfront shelves for efficient storage.
• Pegboards plain sheets with space for accessories such as gas bottle holders and pegboard trays.
• Assortment case holders designed to fit our assortment cases perfectly.
• The new ladder holder and airline rails.
• Other accessories, including vice holders.
